MOBILE, Ala. – Middle Tennessee opened its 2012 spring season by successfully defending the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate Championship. The Blue Raiders had rounds of 288-282-288 for an 858 total on the par 72, 7,051-yard Magnolia Grove Crossing Golf Course.

Team, Cho own overall lead
MOBILE, Ala. – Middle Tennessee, the defending Mobile Bay Intercollegiate champions, enjoyed a strong start to the spring season by grabbing first place after 36 holes in the 15-team event. The Blue Raiders had rounds of 288 and 282 on the par 72, 7,051-yard Magnolia Grove Crossing Golf Course to enjoy a five-stroke lead.

Set to defend Mobile Bay title
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - For Coach Whit Turnbow, now in his fifth season as head coach of the Middle Tennessee men’s golf team, there is both good news and bad news. The good news is that he lost only one player off of last year’s team that won three tournaments and again advanced to the NCAA regionals.

NASHVILLE – Middle Tennessee sophomore golfer Brett Patterson was listed as one of five nominees for the Ed Temple Male Amateur Athlete Award for the 14th Annual Pepsi Celebration of Champions presented by Kroger it was announced this week by the Nashville Sports Council.

Blue Raider one of 84 collegiate golfers invited
PHOENIX, Ariz. – The 2011 Patriot All-America has finalized the field of golfers for its 54-hole collegiate golf tournament that will be played Dec. 28-30 at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz., and Middle Tennessee’s Hunter Green will represent the Blue Raiders. The field will feature 84 collegiate golfers from across the nation, and includes 21 of the world’s top-100 ranked amateurs.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men’s golf coach Whit Turnbow announced today the signing of Drake Duncan to a scholarship agreement. Duncan is a highly-rated player from South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Ky.
